Steve and Paula,

Professional Adventurers

July 31, 2009 - We made our final drive out of the FAA's Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center and into retirement.  Some people retire because they are tired of working.  Not us.  We enjoyed our time as federal employees and would still be working if we didn't have other things we wanted to do.

We are retiring because we want to experience all that the world has to offer.  We have a list of 15 places around the world where we would like to live for about a year each to get to know the area and the people.  (See Itinerary above.) We also have about the same number of places we would like to visit for a few weeks each.  In between these travels, we will be back in the US to visit family and friends and see some of the sights that our own country has to offer.

We don't know if we will ever complete our "to see and do" list but it will be an adventure anyway.

We try to update the Journal (tab above) every week, usually on Sunday, with our previous week's activities and any thoughts that we have had that merit sharing.  Feel free to visit this site often and keep up with our adventure.  Also, if you have recommendations or comments for us, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Life will be constantly changing for us as we explore the world. However, most of the time we will only be a phone call or video message away.

We have now completed our most recent adventure - a 1000 mile, three-month pilgrimage from Le Puy-en-Velay, France to Santiago de Compostela, Spain

New Journal Entry

October 29 - We have an emotional arrival at the Cathedral of Saint James (Santiago)
